I am 17 and a huge fan of Selena Gomez. I live in Long Island, right on the border of the suburbs and NYC, so the city is very close to where i live. Selena Gomez is doing a concert in October for her tour, and it’s in Brooklyn, which is close to where I live. The concert is on a school night, but it’ll be during my senior year of high school so I’m okay with going out on a school night because it’ll be fun. I have never in my life been to a concert before, so I think this will be a very memorable opportunity and a good highlight of my senior year. She’ll be playing at a stadium called Barclay’s Center, which is only a 30-40 minute drive, but I’m willing to take the bus/train as I have taken NYC public transit alone many times before. The thing is, my parents still treat me like a kid and are afraid I’ll get kidnapped and what not, but we used to live in Queens, NYC and I used to go out all the time but now they this it’s all new for me. The tickets are sold out at Ticketmaster, but I found these pretty good seats and they are ONLY $60, and they are legit. AND THE FUNNIEST PART IS THAT I HAVE A GOOD JOB, AND I AM GONNA PAY FOR THE TICKETS MYSELF AND YET MY PARENTS STILL ARE BEING IMMATURE AND NOT LETTING ME GO. It’s not even like it costs a lot, I think my parents are blowing things out of proportion. It’s like I don’t have any freedom, and the place in Brooklyn isn’t even the ‘ghetto’ it’s a good city neighborhood, it’s like Manhattan. There are only a few of the good seats left, so I need to convince them quickly. So how should I convince my parents to let me go? I can even tell them I’m going with a friend if that will help convince them.
